Hello friends,
Yesterday I finally watched Dhurandhar 2 in theatre on big screen with full sound. The film is officially called Dhurandhar: The Revenge. After waiting so long since the first part, I was super excited. Let me share my personal thoughts after watching it. I will be honest with little fun touches too because the movie had many crazy moments that made me smile or laugh in between the serious action.
My Theatre Experience and First Impression
I booked the ticket for the morning show on 20 March 2026. The hall was almost full even on the second day. When the lights went off and the title card came with loud background music, everyone clapped. Ranveer Singh as Hamza Ali Mazari / Jaskirat Singh Rangi looked like a complete beast from the first scene itself. The movie runs for almost 3 hours 50 minutes, so I carried snacks and water because it is a long ride. But trust me, time passed quickly in the second half.
Story Continuation Without Major Spoilers
The story picks up right after the shocking end of the first Dhurandhar. Jaskirat is now deep inside Karachi's dangerous Lyari area. He has to handle the big power vacuum after Rehman Dakait's death. There are new enemies, betrayals from inside and outside, and lots of political games mixed with crime world. He balances his undercover life, personal revenge for 26/11, and loyalty to the nation. The film shows how one man fights against huge criminal syndicates and ISI threats. Aditya Dhar has tried to give a proper and emotional closure to the whole duology.
Ranveer Singh's Performance – The Real Hero
Ranveer Singh is the biggest reason to watch this movie. He has given full body and soul to the role. From intense undercover scenes to raw emotional breakdowns, he carries the entire 230-minute film on his shoulders. His eyes show pain, anger and determination at the same time. In action sequences he looks unstoppable. I was thinking – bhai itna energy kahan se laata hai? There is one scene where he fights multiple goons in rain – I literally said "wah" loudly in the theatre. His chemistry with Sara Arjun as Yalena also feels real and touching.
Supporting Cast and Their Impact
Sanjay Dutt as SP Chaudhary Aslam brings heavy screen presence. His dialogues are powerful and he looks perfect in the role. Arjun Rampal as Major Iqbal is a strong antagonist – cold, smart and dangerous. R Madhavan gets good screen time and adds intelligence to the story. Rakesh Bedi as Jamil Jamali is funny in some places and brings little relief in the heavy drama. Sara Arjun has limited but important role and she performs well. Other actors like Danish Pandor and Gaurav Gera also do their job nicely. The ensemble cast works together to make the world of Karachi underworld feel alive.
Action, Music and Technical Side
Action sequences are loud, bloody and full of bazookas as expected. Some fights are shot very well with good cinematography. The interval block is mass and the last 30-40 minutes give proper goosebumps with patriotic feel. Background score is loud and helps in building tension. Songs are okay – not many but the ones that are there suit the mood. Visual effects in some big action parts look decent for Bollywood standards. However, the first half feels a little slow and stretched at places. I checked my watch once or twice thinking – ab thoda fast ho jaye.
Fun Moments and Little Complaints with Smile
Now the fun part – there were few scenes where the villain does over-the-top dramatic entry and I couldn't stop smiling. One character keeps saying long dialogues even while running – I thought yeh banda marathon bhi kar sakta hai! Ranveer's intense look sometimes becomes so serious that it feels like he is ready to fight the entire Pakistan army alone. I whispered to my friend – "bhai yeh toh real life mein bhi dhurandhar ban sakta hai". But seriously, these small things added entertainment. My only complaint is the length. After 3 hours my back started hurting but the climax made me forget everything.
Box Office and Public Reaction
The film has opened very well and is collecting good numbers day by day. People are talking about Ranveer's performance and the patriotic emotion. Many are saying it gives proper closure to the story started in first part. Some fans feel it is better than the first one in action while others say the first one had more surprise factor. For me it is a solid 3.5 out of 5. Not perfect but worth watching in theatre for the big screen experience.
My Final Personal Verdict
After watching Dhurandhar 2 I came out of the theatre with mixed feelings but mostly satisfied. Ranveer Singh has once again proved why he is one of the most energetic actors we have. Aditya Dhar has attempted a big scale spy thriller with emotion and revenge. If you loved the first Dhurandhar for its rawness and mass appeal, you will enjoy this too. It is loud, long, dramatic and full of blood and bullets. Go with family or friends, book good seats and enjoy the journey of Jaskirat Singh Rangi till the end. Just remember – it is not a short film so plan your snacks and breaks accordingly.
So friends, this was my honest and personal review after watching Dhurandhar: The Revenge. I added little fun thoughts because movies are for entertainment after all.
Have you watched it yet? What did you like most – Ranveer's acting, action scenes or the emotional parts? Did the length bother you or not? Share your thoughts freely in the comments.
I will try to reply to as many as possible.
